Many members of congress have held townhall meetings within their districts. These meetings have been an oppourtunity for the American people to give their opinions, and that is what they've done.

There have been chants, shouts, and screams over the healthcare situation at these town halls. Many have complained that healthcare will be limited if the Democrats plan is passed. There have been strong turnouts accross the country.

However, these meeting turned violent when the SEIU got involved. The SEIU was angry that the American people were voicing their opinions so they decided to get violent with the protestors. In several incidents there were punches thrown at the conservative protestors.

Sarah Palin also weighed in, calling the healthcare plan "evil."

Nancy Pelosi recently commented on the protests, calling them "un-American." She said that it is natural for there to be some debate, but the protestors were being "un-American" and running an "ugly campaign."

It is shocking to me that Pelosi would accuse these protestors of being un-American, when all the liberals did for the past eight years was protest. It is called freedom of speech, Miss Pelosi, and both sides of the story have the right to it.

Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-58213153356709298802009-07-22T06:33:00.000-07:002009-07-22T07:08:03.279-07:00Sen.Boxer gets slammed over Cap and Trade for racial commentsThe President and CEO of the Black Chamber of Commerce attended testimony over the Environment and Public Works on Thursday. Sen. Boxer (D-CA), the same woman who scolded a man in the service for calling her ma'am, was at that testimony. Sen. Boxer disagreed with Harry C. Alford, the President and CEO, so she decided to use his race against him.

Boxer quoted the head of "100 Black Men" saying that the Cap and Trade bill would help our society. She was suggesting that he should support the bill simply because other black people do, too. That is racism.

She brought race into the debate, which has nothing to do with the environment. She suggested that all African-Americans are the same, and that he should be supporting the bill just because other African-Americans do. It is pure racism to use someone's race against them, especially when the topic has nothing to do with race.

Alford would not stand for that racism. He fired back at her and flustered her to the point where she looked like she was going to cry. Good for him. Here is a video of the arguement:

We all know how nasty this Cap and Trade is. It is set up to damage corperations and tax customers out of control. Please, do not let the liberal Democrats shut you up. Boxer tried it, but Alford had none of it. By like Harry Alford. Call your senator and tell them how much you hate this bill.

Copy and paste the following like into your browser for a list of senator's telephone numbers: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Also, please call the following 8 "Republican" congressmen that voted for Cap and Trade and tell them how much you are upset with them:

Mary Bono Mack (R-CA)
Michael Castle (R-DE)
Mark Kirk (R-IL)
Leonard Lance (R-NJ)
Frank Lobiondo (R-NJ)
John M. Judge Sotomayor denied that she believed that a latina woman would make better judgements and also denied the criticism of past decisions she has made due to race.

However, many Republican Senators grilled Sotomayor on her past. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said that we need to "expose her record" as an "extremely liberal" lawyer. Many others said that they were concerned by the comments. Sen Jon Kyl (R-AZ) acknowledged that he was proud that a latina woman had been nominated, despite concern.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 154px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSO1vJVlleL_gemUJU2YAAkeG-CoRT00H2LF-sDpHatn2UwITwynR-fSffNP8Fn0Eri31lVKPuTUCLBwV7LyrOlyMBVn82tIr46QnwTrSyc3lqKy1w5IjHRQVis6ZpHs1HvG6KPEMVkOjP/s200/graham.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358327123374399730" />
^Sen. Five celecbrities, and very famous celebrities. The celecbrities, in order of death, were: David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays. Here are a few thoughts on each celebrity.

David Carradine: David was known for his role in "Kung-Fu." He passed away a few weeks ago from mysterious causes. He will be remembered for his acting ability.

Ed McMahon: Ed will be remembered for his sense of humor and for his legacy with Johnny Carson on the "Tonight Show." He will also be remembered as a pitchman. He made people laugh for ages.

Farrah Fawcett: Farrah lost her battle with cancer on Friday. Fawcett ill be remembered for her extreme beauty and iconic look. She will also be remembered for her acting ability, especially for her role in "Charlie's Angels." Fawcett had been battling cancer for a while and is now at peace.

Michael Jackson: Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop," died tragically of a heart attack on Friday in his Los Angeles home. It is still unclear whether MJ's drug addiction played a role in the death. Jackson lived a controversial and tragic life. He was involved in many scandals. However, in the end, people will remember him for his unbelieveable voice and ability to dance. Jackson was 50.

Billy Mays: Billy was a TV pitchman, remembered for his commercials for OxiClean, Orange Glo, and others, died in his sleep on Saturday night. The immediate cause of death is unknown, although he was involved in a mysterious accident in which plane debris fell on him when his plan made a rough stop the previous day. Mays will be remembered for his talent at pitching preoducts, but overall he will be remembered for his likeable personality, his kindness and his sense of humor. Mays was 50.

May these individuals and all who have died rest in peace. Please pray for their families and remember the individuals in their best times, not their worst.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 185px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgw7N8DfgCxtLFmsi0WgbJEKI2tvbOhxSHi1kvdzxHDxm0anWI3oRMAMIoNQ823B5I7Er2Jl1v3ZyOZ8d4H1FuP7asaFsAluQxgAYBMIpG1sQObu1uhQ0i0ZLBSvl7nNr1V25jhXMz9B_9/s200/David+Carradine.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352584342780882498" />
^David Carradine^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 139px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxCMlqQd9ey6DgLBU-xqIGg-psHAivKYj56J2x2gtifQYfFYHWOB7r2kZtYPdhBNz-kRw5v-YAci_LMLZhCPK4meIruQgjZNK9jBeUlpZmfGg7sFoz0urnKdbApC3DGQ2uCSgB4qE9p5ne/s200/Ed+McMahon.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352584511111034418" />
^Ed McMahon^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 162px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbOiylYydXTUqA__9nx0XUnJ7VBXHr2OSqR0xMhDMKzrH60acygWF7FWkkrwteebBAjmCjQWjSt26OokLuB4FGUgCQk2zCeewDrjWJtdxq4LSR7J57c9HBsSwLqlZlDutmNTnHZiiuBo_i/s200/farrah+fawcett.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352585182386041746" />
^Farrah Fawcett^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9MrWRsv2nR5XTuC2aZCz-gtRag6_EdN4B7glqIDdr90xHA3ng1ypgtSJlLKJ5jBnSqYsT5_gufdpxn4i_Jj6QtomzCQZDzj88dECfj_fqcXa3Vqh9xg7CVWDGKTqtR3GkOmW1mcfGNkDE/s200/michael+jackson.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352585358139891362" />
^Michael Jackson^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2640BaDftU7OYCCObbyBl1GoXj97XM4XFVN1VJY9JxHpJtoY6T_oSTotkq-t68o1dFQyG7TYMPNvWzivofOrYGKbuswK28X2bMw0PrD3OhcC6TFMP7IOEZzGh8B1Cw2cwuxpyc3KYnPmb/s200/billy+mays.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352585540386893234" />
^Billy Mays^Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-58066966922484105002009-06-14T16:20:00.000-07:002009-06-14T16:22:25.219-07:00New YouTube AccountPreseving Conservatism now has its own YouTube account. Letterman said, "One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez." Palin and her family responded quickly. Governor Palin said that Letterman was "sexually perverted."

Letterman said that he regretted the comments and that he shouldn't have made them. However, Palin did not back off, and rightfully so. Palin said she didn't want Letterman to apologize to her, she wants him to apologize to young women across America for contributing to low self-esteem of young girls. Todd Palin said, "any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable."

Letterman insists that the joke was about Palin's 18 year old daughter and not about the 14 year old daughter that attended the game with Palin. I find this hard to believe. However, it doesn't matter which daughter it was to me, it was still a disgusting comment. Letterman needs to directly apologize to the Palin family and the rest of America. America needs to rise up against this perverted behavior.

Another major story that is developing is that Iranian President Ahmadinejad has been declared the winner in Iran. This has been met with much controversey, as his challenger called the results "foul" and many people believe that the Iranian President may have fixed the election. Protests in Iran have been breaking out in huge numbers over the conflict. More information on the story will be repoted here on Preserving Conservaitsm as it happens.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 222px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiglxgTStSKU8m-ydz8icI4-icgpGUfbZ8tMJ8AgLkEIKeuRr2Gc8uKd6Mf27gz5QxhZQ0H20rD2zF9RDbnsmgcbsdQDXGy9aruosbCroP17pHomtL1a6yvqORLXVc7o8T2uGOV2H53qf3C/s320/sarah+palin+at+Yankee+game.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346830120937658866" />
^Sarah Palin attends Yankee game^Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-12447809451716933412009-06-11T18:21:00.000-07:002009-06-11T19:07:51.055-07:00Support Chicago's Olympic bid in 2016

Preserving Conservatism would like to officially announce its support for Chicago's Olympic bid in 2016. The bid has been active for a while now, and a lot has happened. Chicago advanced through the national competition by surpassing Los Angeles. Chicago advanced internationally and in June 2008, advanced to the final four and became a candidate city.

The games coming to Chicago would benefeit Chicago in many ways, especially as far as tourism goes. The games would be expensive and the city would have to cut funding in some other areas to bring the games here, which is definitely a negative. However, I think that once the world sees what a great city Chicago is in 2016, it would help future tourism greatly. This is why I support it. It is important that the city decides where to build their facilities wisely, though, so that neighborhoods will not be disrupted.

Chicago is perfect for the Olympics. The culture, diversity, and tradition are like no other place in the world. Chicago's unofficial motto is "Make No Small Plans." I think that motto fits perfectly in this situation.

Please join me and millions of others accross the world in supporting my home town of Chicago, Illinois, USA in their 2016 Olympic bid. They were convicted and senctenced to 12 years in a labor camp.

The families of the journalists issued statementssaying that Ling has a serious medical condition and that Lee's 4-year-old daughter is "signs of anguish over the absence of her mother."

There is serious concern over the circumstances. Many, including me, believe that this is way too harsh of a sentence and that this is simply a political move by North Korea because the two are American. President Obama said yesterday that he hopes that North Korea is not using the two to a political advantage. I believe that Kim Jong Il is trying to pick a fight with the United States and trying to provoke a military offensive.

These circumstances put President Obama in a very tough position. We want to avoid a war with North Korea as much as possible, so too much immediate action would be bad. All America can really do is try to work with China so that we can, together, put economic pressure on North Korea so that the people will have to revolt against the current administration.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 160px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxgoritwKbfYtgupUR4YVplGZph6LFVL4s9eO6QTIo_QpajTyJAWnF2rUa9vOC1DduBb2k696yEy1jIkBQIJEqGnJik650u6Lrcd0A-0FB_GKpfqx1S52J5KLnwJo92kN47VLkQJCVukHl/s320/lingandlee.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345448896915837330" />

^Lee (left) and Ling (right)^Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-205067689351245312009-06-07T15:23:00.001-07:002009-06-08T06:39:27.960-07:0065th Anniversary of D-day marked on Saturday, Cuban spies taken into custody, Asassin arrestedThree stories have made big headlines since my last post.

First, D-day. Saturday marked 65 years since American, British, and Canadian troops invaded Normandy, France to capture France from the Nazis and take back western Europe. Ceremonies took place on Saturday at the top of the beaches in Normandy in front of the cemetery. The ceremonies also included a speech by President Barack Obama. You won't hear this from me often, but I thought it was a good speech. It is pretty easy to give a good speech when you aren't really talking politics, but none the less, I thought it was good. I really hope that this ceremony opened some of the French people's eyes. Hopefully they will notice the sacrifice America gave to allow them to remain a country. There were also ceremonies at the WWII memorial in Washington, D.C. Many veterans attended the ceremonies in Normandy, Washington, and elsewhere across the world. Thank you, veterans, for keeping this nation safe and free.

Changing directions, a couple from Washington were taken into custody over the weekend because they were uncovered as Cuban spies. The Myers couple were ages seventy-one and seventy-two, and had been spying for the Cuban government for nearly 30 years. The two had been communicating with the Cuban government by radio signals. The spies, if convicted of their charges, may face up to 20 years in prison for their actions. Some say that this may make President Obama's dreams of a friendship with Cuba impossible, but others say that this happens all the time and will have little to none.

Lastly, a man that was threatening to kill the President was arrested. The man was in posession of eight legal firearms and told his co-worker at a bank in Utah that he was going to kill President Obama. The man then emptied out his savings account. He is originally from upstate New York. The man was arrested on Thursday and is being charged with conveying threats. This is sickening behavior. It doesn't matter how much you hate the President. This is unacceptable behavior.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD2hJ8Hoa62XKbvY9AVZcKgr_ywawBd__1NwgZjwBf_i1M1yKagKS2QedzuJguXhtBBHi9eajs2K6baeNjQn2Bi82eTM7lZghRwu5fDI1qXpD9jrmYjA2B4knkgLyEFt0KlREyXRly-Y7W/s320/vetandboy.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5344950123702764882" />
^Young boy talks to British Veteran^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 125px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbTDkURI53SKapAem3Oms6pnqvv-5-roi9WK1BhNl2Aeybj4Kq7NIKBnUJ5ChMmm58djjNuxTNoAKzjMSAvL4kDWi5HWv6oefJrNMzUK10XUYP7Bf4_3t_2nG_HWcCHs1tgYMTyZRMv1_5/s200/apptbuildingofspies.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5344950422562684626" />
^Appartment belonging to accused Cuban spies^Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-5192457752042432302009-06-05T11:50:00.000-07:002009-06-05T12:22:38.774-07:00Obama gives speech in Cairo, then visits EuropePresident Obama gave his speech to the Muslim worldon Thursday, June 4. His speech was at the University of Cairo in Cairo, Egypt and it was intended to closen relations between the United States and the Muslim world. However, I found it quite disturbing.

Obama cited the Koran multiple times, more than double the times he cited the Bible. The basic overall tone of the speech was him pretending to be a Muslim. I know that sounds ignorant, but it is true. He also referred to himself as Barack Hussein Obama in his speech. During the campaign, McCain/Palin supporters were called racist and ignorant when we called him that. Now he is referring to himself as that? Sounds like hipocracy to me. Another thing is that he mentioned that his father was a Muslim. Again, that is something that was considered racist during the campaign. In fact, the Obama campaign denied that his father was Muslim and said that his father was actually an atheist. Again, hipocracy.

Another very troubling thing that he said throughout the speech was said when referring to 9/11. The President said that 9/11 had "...led some in my country to view Islam as inevitably hostile not only to America and Western countries, but also to human rights." What does he expect? When American find out that 9/11 was set up by an Islamic extremeist group, what else are they supposed to think? American do not think that Muslims are all bad people. However, it is natural to be a bit skeptical of Muslims when you find out that a group of them killed 3,000 of your fellow Americans!

Not only did his references to 9/11 make me angry, but also his references to Israel. Obama said that, although he wants to remain strongly allied with Israel, but that the Palestinians "have suffered in pursuit of a homeland." This troubled me because he did not mention that the reason that it was the Palestinians that re-started the chaos by firing missles at schools and hospitals in Israel.

Obama is now visiting Germany. In a press conference with Germany's PM, Obama said that Germany "has not made any hard commitments" when referring to Germany possibly taking in some released prisoners from Gitmo. He said, however, that he had not asked for any commitments. All of this is his way of saying that Germany said "no" when he asked them to take in Gitmo prisoners, but he never actually wanted them to say "yes" in the first place, which we all know isn't true. Obama also visited Buchenwald, a major Nazi concentration camp from World War II. While there, Obama said that we must "fight evil." I hope he realizes that we are currently fighting people in the middle east that are also evil and that we cannot pull out. We especially must focus on Iran to avaoid another Holocaust from happening.

In conclusion, Obama's overseas trip has been another, as Sean Hannity said, "apology tour" and he is truely embarassing the people of this country and weakening our ties with countries like Israel and Germany.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 247px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6LRk_9aTkeXPBHud31RG5vsanj_bCIoqkcDnH-Z4QSGIZgnb8eSf8OT4ntmEPa1FnKGFZN2H64S5yoE5CHg8bGLpC-u0Gnbytm4ZtZa2-eQNqm9RCJ09nHXcyDoz2-ASmj42wjt0P90eG/s320/obama+gives+speech+in+cairo+egypt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343925704216128882" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 225px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRTw00YKS-ohjdda7C0YB4pdsRuLJ54GVjSvXPfQW8fNVjm-9M_3kT2LkgiqN0_Uywdsf2Lt0GHqFEzCrFnVynJZvHL_84svL4x9pHbcUqu_vzORIi7mLuJtIfJcVDheQBPOq-HIN6RaiY/s320/obama+at+Nazi+concentration+camp.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343925910326655698" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-5213005688045043512009-06-03T12:57:00.000-07:002009-06-03T13:28:38.263-07:00Thoughts on Judge Sotomayor and Obama in Saudi ArabiaA lot has happened since my last post that have caught a lot of people's attention and could be very influential on this country's future.

A few days ago, President Obama announced that his nomination for Supreme Court justice would be Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Sotomayor grew up in Bronx, NY. She is very liberal, of course. However, there is some concern about her race and her social status. Judge Sotomayor once told the media that, "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life." This has raised serious alarm throughout the country on whether or not Sotomayor is a racist.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has led the charge against the judge because of this quote. Last wednesday, Gingrich wrote on Twitter that Judge Sotomayor was indeed a "racist" and he cited her speech in Berkley, CA in which she made the quote. Talk show host Rush Limbaugh also publically condemned the comment. However, Rush mentioned that he would support Sotomayor if she was willing to help reverse Roe v. Wade, which was a case brought before the Supreme Court that legalized abortion. There is a possibility that Sotomayor would reverse the case due to her Catholic faith and the fact that she "doesn't have a clear record on abortion."

There is a concern, however, that if in the Supreme Court, she would favor a person of lower class in court over a person of upper class because of her history and past experiences of growing up in New York City. Preserving Conservatism has not yet formed a definite opinion on Sotomayor. Although I am sceptical of her quote among other things, I am willing to possibly support her if she does indeed offer to help in reversing Roe v. Wade.

Another recent story is President Obama's visit to Saudi Arabia. This is yet another visit to the Saudi King. This morning, Obama arrived in Saudi Arabia and, to my pleaure, did not bow down to the Saudi King. I have nothing against Saudi Arabia. In fact, I recognize them as an ally of the United States. However, it concerns me to see President Obama visiting the middle east more often than he visits our allies like Great Britain. It would benefeit the middle east more to visit Britain and talk about military strategy than to visit the Saudi King. Hopefully he continues to talk to the Saudis, but keeps strong ties with Great Britain.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghI1kmmXd4QUK84FsR7FQ41c-vBV0_hmpRiCtEp0rl7R9gWai0z2doD2owOw2WuWIaHNFt8vE9MLgqegh65wPE33PgDZlH04mSilrm2uQLUd7l9d6fpYMUr_yee0LCsJ3B7CM3PkYdgRzy/s320/sotomayor+and+obama.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343200616961780050" />
^Sotomayor with Obama^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 302px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjetZaoJMC-rQqjctKL-A1-90c5C3ExKFGuTGfCMrLdBbtA_FISx3WvnedIHaPPSSssxuXTsRtCVl5eDOwLOxGOZalUaK1eqttM_55PNwLU03aJm0e496p9vHppUALwV1Xywx0S46Z2kKTH/s320/obama+in+saudi+araba.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343200747928935346" />
^Obama with Saudi King^Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-82768570434912187732009-05-24T13:14:00.000-07:002009-05-24T13:29:57.924-07:00Happy Memorial DayHave a happy and fun Memorial May, everyone. The CIA says that they briefed her on the use of the interrigation thechnique and that she chose to ignore it.

However, Pelosi fired back by saying, "We were told that waterboarding was not being used." This statement angered many people because it is suggesting that the CIA is lying. I believe that it is absurd to suggest that the government's top intelligence agency is lying to officials about telling Pelosi.

Top members of the Republican Party jumped to defend the CIA. I think her accusations against our terror-fighters are irresponsible and, according to the CIA's record, Speaker Pelosi was briefed on what had been done," said Senator Kit Bond (R-MO).

It is time for us to find out what really happened, and I am definitely more willing to believe that CIA than Pelosi. Pelosi is simply trying to protect her reputation, but the CIA is simply giving what records they had on the issue. Pelosi's comments were disgusting and she needs to admit the truth.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 206px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSB4s7udtD3gM-7UY5yem8Ko-3tKiDH3oSx_ah_1wyRIXAzn3S7WAI7y4MESWBlBSPc-hP7HIJqHnQKboxNmmdhg3b1ZkyXsYiLVlbzHrU8lKnZPnGlFijPa5fm-3f3QreeaLK0y4pjnuw/s320/pelosicia.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336130565966951346" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-66424720942383969232009-05-05T17:43:00.000-07:002009-05-05T18:00:57.962-07:00Miss California story going way to farI am appauled at the lengths that the liberals are going to with the story about Miss California. This shouldn't have even been a story in the first place. Miss California was simply and honestly stating her views on marriage. What is wrong with that?

The liberals have taken it another step further. The other day, an MSNBC host made references to Miss California's gentials, saying that her breasts were implants (Source: FNC). Perez Hilton called her both the "c-word" and the "b-word" on his blog. This is absurd! It is inappropriate to even mention those types of things in public, much less repeat them on national television!

MSNBC has taken this way too far. This shouldn't have even been a story. She didn't answer in any offensive or vulgar way, she simply stated that "..marriage is between a man and a woman." Not only did they try and make this a story, but they humiliated Miss California on national tv and all over the internet. MSNBC needs to drop this story immediately before their reputation drops world-wide.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 130px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVN7RkfExHUL90cpUip0F8z0_8WJMHG9VdLp7JEb-WKcita5XyiQm4JjsCc0EhIpZrQbQ1NP6CRQSYiiZjbgbPpOGAkQExUGCnCqGWXCz5dzeq-XNebn0S36FoTFTRDDiOOz5T1TjUFCU-/s320/hiltongay.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332509619864363506" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-75092960169666790432009-05-01T13:58:00.000-07:002009-05-01T14:12:26.769-07:00Swime Flu getting worseThe "swime flu" virus is getting worse around the globe and raising major concern. The media has made this out to be worse than it currently is, but it still is no laughing matter. This couls get a lot worse and we need to be taking steps to prevent a pandemic.

The other day Joe Biden caused major concer when he told the media that he told his family to leave the house very little and not to ride public transportation. This caused a swift wave of flight cancellations and the flight industry became enraged. I do not recommend that of which the Vice President did. It is fine to go out of the house, jut wash your hands and stay away from those who are sick.

Russia, along with some others, cancelled and banned and trade of pork from the US. This is also something that is ridiculous because you can not get swine flu from pork.

Those are just two examples of people handeling this situation poorly. This situation is bad, so think before you act.

The situation is much worse, however, in Mexico. 343 people in Mexico have died. It is important that we prevent it from getting that bad in the US. There is one confirmed death in the United States which occurred in Texas.

If you need information on the swine flu, do not ask me, I am not a health professional. First, the Beauty Contest.

Perez Hilton asked Miss California if she thought if every state should legalize gay marriage like Vermont recently did. Miss Cali responded that she respected people's opinions and thought it was great that people can chose gay or stright, but that a marriage is between one man and one woman. That answer lost her the contest! Since whn have these people dropped so low that they fail a Beauty Peagant contestant just because they don't agree with her? This is ridiculous and I strongly urge Donald Trump, the head of the contest, to force those responsible for this to apologize for this or to fire them (no pun intended).

Also, Washington is in the midst of yet another scandal. Information has come out that the Bush administration participated in an enhanced interrigation technique called waterboarding that is illegal. President Obama originally said that he was not going to release the documents containing proof of these incidents and that he would drop the case. The far-left loons then spoke up, condemning his actions. The White House then flip-flopped and decided that the documents may be released. The information retained from the waterboarding helped avoid a terrorist attack that may have been similar to 9/11 on L.A.'s tallest building. I would much rather have one man waterboarded than thousands killed. It is that simple. I suggest the President drop this case immediately.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 228px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9oIe_lM9P33bEtHepfe-4H9svrSbmZFIGlN4YjtH7_FpB_Z2F6qPHdatIHGPc7KdG-eg5iVqVeVpy7q-TWeOPVxHD_7UB_nMNJotFOoHhBnWVu-LWSuziSvU7afcY1MsGauDZzqs2YVxS/s320/misscalifornia.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328391737292308786" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-37934909365983223822009-04-15T17:25:00.000-07:002009-04-15T18:02:37.669-07:00Tea Parties take place accross countryOn Tax Day thousands of people hit the streets to protest the governments' wasteful spending and ridiculously high taxes. Protests took place accross the country after Rick Santelli ranted on MSNBC and declared, "We're going to have a Chicago Tea Party!" His wishes came true.

I am extremely pleased at what the people of this country are doing. They are standing up for themselves and not backing down to elitist government officials in Washington who want to waste all of our money away. They are uniting under the principals that our founding father's united under: freedom. Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, and even Democrats participated in the protests.

The mainstream media "missed it" again, or more ignored it. I was dissapointed, yet not suprised, at the media's reaction to this. Here is a review on each outlet's coverage:

NBC: NBC was, as usual, liberally biased. Hosts like Rachel Madow, Chris Matthews, and Keith Olbermann mocked the Tea Parties. Madow also tried to divide those at the Tea Parties saying that there was a controversy brewing between Republicans and Libertarians, even though there was not.

New York Times: The NY Times completely ignored this story. Didn't even bother to mock it or make fun of it because they think they're too "good" for the American people (even though their the lowest of the low).

CNN: CNN, although a liberal network, is usually pretty good at controling liberal rants or overly biased opinion on their network. However, they were almost worse than MSNBC when one of their reporters asked a protester in Chicago why he was there. The man replied that he was outraged that Obama compared himself to Lincoln when his values are distorted. The CNN Reporter screamed, "What does that have to do with taxes!?" She then commented that the protests were nothing but a fake grassroots protest organized by Fox News, which is appaulingly untrue.

Another problem that I have is President Obama's response to this. A few days ago Obama released a report to Homeland warning of "a rise in right-wing extremeism." This is also appauling. President Obama believes that anyone who disagrees with him is an "extremeist."

Despite all of this censorship and attempted silencing, the American people will rule as the bigger voice and the more important at that. The government will never be able to silence the American people. We are uniting. We are rebeling against big government and preserving the original cause of our founding fathers. Perhaps we could say we are "Preserving Conservatism."

Thank you to all who went to Tea Parties today. I did not make it to one, but I support the cause all the way and hope to make it to the next one. Thank you for preserving our values. Do not stand down. Fight for your rights. God Bless America.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 124px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVoqMjsTuKPS2hUCAZQ0FUQQJzwTiUVAe4RC4i1JSBYdupwSDC4dqAaNOVzC0pb0uICQ9K-a-NAVMEK_wKBWu0t0zQ0Ij-WLrGDLWbcrvsKq6PBYpQJk9e5COAF11eblEh8lgmiAdHIwTw/s200/teaparty.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325087822213449058" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 148px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7wWhnEaCkyO5s2ecwFHzpTnWo5Z8M1ppBL7fKQvRBFhxKn9-TtRXNP5QNqNaQivTUNEqQG5qxVAYt62W3xGb6SaPkAVdx-CC8APmAluu41xmR0WM5jIyPC6VuiyMiaRFVLNJn0POEwTYb/s200/teaparty2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325087930138983650" /> ^Joe The Plummber^

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 133px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji0nuIhAWOKuJrhoISzJZHudndrpFZROin5malyfm4IsI9krOXmsaFaM7EMbpWuOpxlAFTjac6nRJh7xleiUYJt40G48Z4C4Z4JnHZAQ-xKHuM8RfR4pPqT8J2m2-LFOTz5yuOtqnu30Du/s200/teaparty3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325088088202214658" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-13869992783708013922009-03-29T13:42:00.000-07:002009-03-29T13:54:07.076-07:00Obama ignores PakistanPakistan, the home of Al-Qaeda and the biggest treat to United States security, is being ignored by President Obama, officially. He has decided to rule out any troop raids into Pakistan, a major decision and treat to US security and to the safety of the world.

Obama announced the decision to ignore Pakistan on Sunday and said his goal is to focus on Afganistan. I believe that there are terrorists in Afganistan and that they are a treat, but we need to focus more on seeking out terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. There is not doubt that there is more terrorist activity in Pakistan, and it must be persued.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPd-YUzOBFMFzHM4jVQynoHrhptml2bab3xZyVsMGA52QIbwEBQps8W1OwgIeIhp5hcndVH-3kROWP1J4bwpkw-H0fyEET4wl2z3MHcz4iFHmsQuLBTFA2alApRQK6S1wLRRQOUc3lcuoe/s400/usa+pakistan.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318715763686650674" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-79536585637625281352009-03-25T18:04:00.000-07:002009-03-25T18:31:39.503-07:00Obama to speak at Notre Dame, Catholics outragedThe University of Notre Dame is one of the most renouned Catholic universities in the world. It has always stood for strong, Catholic values and has always been very pro-life.

The university recently announced that President Obama, the most pr-abortion President the United States has seen, will speak at the university's graduation ceremony and will be presented with a high, special honor.

Catholics and pro-lifers around the world are outraged at this decision, including me. I am a strong supporter of the University of Notre Dame and a huge fan of Notre Dame's sports teams. I support the university, but I disagree with the decision. Perhaps they should have considered the man's views before they decided to present him with one of the university's highest honors.

Many groups and people have publicly denounced the university's decision to invite Obama. According to NDResponse.com, multiple student groups at UND, including the school's newspaper, issued statements criticizing the decision by the university.

Preserving Conservatism Blog is now officially announcing its' disagreement with the university's decision.

To help stop Obama's speech at Notre Dame, go to www.NotreDameScandal.com. Once you go to the website, feel free to sign the petition and e-mail Father Jenkins. Please pray that UND comes to its' senses and realizes that the President completely disagree's with everything that Notre Dame stands for.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 225px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS2iC3m9FZZF3GNkxJ5-ypeQnfdqEmVA03wjk0u-jmvTBZGIKjzgkLe16fQ-8MdzTsafEZiO8Wsj4XX6OqcIg-f9kafaOptAPEoywXoQ8_OSdqFrg9ZZU2JCbcQ4F61b_gdVK2awbKsna8/s320/notredame.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317300254609470514" />
Jack Higgins © 2009 Chicago Sun-TimesJaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-16167572471044343102009-03-15T17:55:00.000-07:002009-03-15T18:03:32.277-07:00Obama lifts banThe other day Barack Obama lifted the ban on stem-cell reacherch and offered federal funding to reasearchers. Yet another reversal of a Bush policy, and a sort of slap in the face, Obama is destroying the values that this country was founded on.

The dangers of reachearching stem-cells have no limits. It sounds very nice, of course. Who doesn't want to find cures to diseases? However, it is so risky. If it doesn't work and the patient dies then there are two dead: the patient and the child. If it saves the patient then there is still one dead: the child. Why not find another way to cure these diseases where no one dies! Doesn't that make sense?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 222px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcFnU0SngCM3HoFuoE1wkIIA0AVXhsFq3jUnmZjVwXMhUAr7ggzLIrjxh-N1LtNhmmkanGmgC15Cbow54izOCt1I4RqGlj5TO3ibxXDkKxVVcToNatDF1dD-I4J3T8R-i5VOsedNgSxxTe/s320/stemcellbillsign.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313584929491039218" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-1866469918433533972009-02-27T18:01:00.000-08:002009-02-27T18:10:43.414-08:00A step in the right directionToday, accross America, the "Tea Party" protests that were organized by Rick Santelli took place. These protests were protests by both Republicans and Democrats that were protesting the Obamanomic way of fixing the economy.

The protests sure made a statement. The protests were on TV, the radio, the newspaper, and all over the internet. From Chicago to Jacksonville to Nashville, the turnout appeared to be great.

The protest came about when CNBC's Rick Santelli went on a rampage about the Obama administration on the floor of theChicago Mercantile Exchange, shouting, "We are going to have a Chicago Tea Party!"

I am proud to say the the turnout was greatest in Chicago. Chicago, my favorite city, is the home of Barack Obama and many (other) corrupt politicians. The city is extremely liberal and filled with left-wing extremists. This is why it made me so happy to see so many smart people out on the streets. It is a step in the right direction for Illinois.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbLGn6_-89drB4Wj_xxcEs4DULYNl5sbM1fy1NRFvzO6vdrqAiHN3smLQu7emEp80DwLlxOMx0q0iYNTle9_2OSjsc0bl-JH_6R_tkgYQ5qGw9dq0vvq72y05gHzyUbddpK4tgs0DHPpxW/s320/P1080839%5B1%5D+(2).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307664889406684002" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2661869908868693055.post-37854192779745733522009-02-16T09:40:00.000-08:002009-02-16T09:51:27.947-08:00Happy President's Day<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 260px; height: 129px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvcOTeS8HKsMorc60tUJN85_NV048TZT8E0M33_72v66gw85938QSj216m_w1Q6KY7aRILTG-aOo1oKo2QZ4dgH0W0eWCdcMQpUlQoMsm6ixqwLwaS2YhdGLBbdzU7FFU_6_qU8DZhtZVU/s320/washreaglinc.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303454064801764834" />

It is a day to remeber our forefathers. Congress and the President have become power crazy. Suddenly they can do whatever they want, and that is what they are doing.

A "stimulus" bill is headed to President Obama's desk that is the largest spending bill....EVER. No bill has ever spent this much money in the history of the WORLD. We all know that spending isn't going to get us out of this mess. Tax cuts are what will fix our problem, and those are rare in this bill. This bill will put our generation (the youth) in a huge hole of debt.

Not only is this bill ridiculous, but it gets much worse. Congress is so ignorant, so power crazy that...get this...not a single member of congress read this bill. Nope. The biggest spending bill ever and no member read the whole thing.

This is a glimpse of what we are going to get in the next four years. Four more years of this is going to be detrimental to our country. Socialism is arriving to Washington, and Conservatives can do nothing about it. Thats is a scary statement, but it is, sadly, true.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 233px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9dLSAvVc0DclJzJV0hvRlX9CMMMtoa6CMU9ox8g2utkzpOE77I32nswFWkCl10BFg8atfVxBnDN4LKjZXyQHTUU9OBOWmogoN1M9CppHbWt6bNK9PoSoKRfrImu2ldT0r-JS-RI5pXC87/s320/pelosi+is+nuts.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5303052298597213058" />Jaredhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09633583458163783925noreply@blogger.com0
